For the uninformed, this is happening all over Sabah. There are instances where teachers only enter the class room a few times a year! There are those who claimed inaccessible road to stay in urban areas for months on ends without visiting the school they serve. These teachers act with impunity protected or tolerated by their principal, who sometimes did the same. It is not uncommon to find remote school with only one (local) teacher "holding the fort". It time to call out these teachers and hold them accountable.

If Malaysia wanted innovators, inventors, linguists, experts, etc., resolve the education problems in the lower tiers and get all kids to schools...Good educators teach with not only the objectives of teaching but more importantly inculcating good discipline, moral principles, and the motivation to learn.

What's important here is the fact that children want to learn but 'lil napoleons are hindering their education development.

MOE, pls take note and scrutinised the complaint properly and act with immediate effect. Education is an important step to move forward. Do not feed teachers who only "dapat gaji buta sahaja."

Each school should make a wall of frame for good teachers and wall of shame for the negatives group. Its not just absence but some didn't even take efforts to teach the childrens in weak classes.

While in East Malaysia it is probably a more rampant problem, it is not much better in peninsula as teacher absenteeism is a common issue and sometimes, even when they do turn up, they do not teach but tell the students to go to sleep in class or revise on their own. It is time the law steps in to tell this tector that teaching is serious business as our nation's future is involved.

What kinda ethic is the teacher and those education administrators imparting to our youth? These bunch of unfit and irresponsible teachers and administrators should be dismissed without any hesitation. Period.

It's quite sad that a student had to take matters into her own hands to right a wrong. Her complaints her ignored and the headmaster even covered the teacher's wrongdoings...

Large numbers of students in SES Kluang suffered same in 1966-1967. The teacher teaching English was frequently deputising for HM. The Geog teacher taught nothing! The Malay language teacher joked the whole period. This destroyed their future. It was the school's only Pure Science class. Only 8 boys got into HSC based on 6th Form entrance exam. It was a "slaughter" of the town's smartest.

My form 1 history teacher only came during examination. Total of 4 times. 2 times for bulanan. 1 time for mid year and 1 time for final year.

Tired of Malaysian government school teachers being lazy and leaving students to self study or go opt for tuition.
