Bukan setakat guru. Staf AKS pun ada. Kenapa? Sebab yang paling dititikberatkan adalah apa yg dicatatkan pada kertas - pencatat kehadiran dan RPH.

There's another case in a neighbouring district too. The lady teacher has been away for years. Only to come back after MCO for approx.2 http://weeks.now she's gone.Shes teaching English and pupils have been left teacher-less.

This issue occurs in almost all rural areas in M'sia. It's also under-represented, researched, discussed, or even made it 2 the front cover of any local educational reports. I fully support this movement as i believe there r teachers who don't deserve 2 b called a teacher.

Really glad to encounter your movement! It was just a hearsay here and there, passed stories from/to one another, and now it's a solid case for what it's worth!

Sabah has the 2nd highest child population in Malaysia along with the highest rates of extreme teacher absenteeism in the nation. 18yo Siti Nafirah is taking her school to court and the case leads all the way to Federal. Support her right to an education and follow @tiadaguru

When people WONDER why the GAP between the RICH and everyone else is GROWING, some of the BLAME can be placed on our BANKS, the fractional reserve SYSTEM, and of course, the lack of INVESTING in our SCHOOLS… schools that actually encourage students to SAVE MONEY? 🤔

Coming from Sabah, from Tawau, I can confirm this happened way back during my school years in 1998. There will always be those few teachers who don't come to class. And when they do, they do not know how to teach, or they will be talking about everything else but the subject they are supposed to teach. I remember one of my form 4 teacher was so bad that I had to seek extra tuition classes out of school. And in my 6th form, one of my teachers had no interest to teach the subject (you could just tell who has the passion to teach and who do not) We were basically left to ourselves to study. I thought things would be different in our local public university, turns out it was even worse. Sometimes in a week we would have 2 to 3 lectures canceled without being told in advance by the lecturers. We would show up and wait for the lecturers and they would be absent. I learned more from Youtube than what I learned in my 3 years in University. Imagine the amount of money we paid and that was the kind of education we got. I think there's also something wrong with how teachers are selected to be teachers. I think it's because of our education system in the first place. Many graduates who didn't know what to do with their life decided to take a short 1 year course by the education ministry and be trained to become a teacher. And guess what you get? Mostly teachers who did poorly and who only become a teacher because it was their last resort. Not teachers who are passionate to teach in the first place. And these are the people we entrust to teach our future generation. I feel very angry to hear about this, and sad for the children of Sabah. And to hear that nothing much can be done about it and that the decision lies in the hands of the few in power and in the broken institution makes me even angrier. It is no surprise that I decided to homeschool my own kids after what I've experienced.
