Sy tidak heran ni. D sekolah adik sy pun cikgu buat hal. Malas dn makan gaji buta.

Perkara ni bukan baru.. Memang terjadi terutama di sekolah pedalaman sabah sarawak.. Kalau mau siasat, datang secara mengejut. Bukan mau datang melawat buat surat rasmi dan inform pihak pengurusan sekolah.. Memang la semua akan nampak perfect .. Cuba datang secara mengejut.. Cikgu sekarang bukan mcm cikgu zaman 90-an punya.. Sy rasa siapa yang mahu kecam ni, memang terasa, yang berfikiran positif itu kita salute..

Cikgu nda masuk kelas satu dua bulan ok lg. Ni 7 bulan. Kalau dia berenti, tau ada cgu ganti. Klu nda dtg sbb hal emergency sakit ka apa sepatutnya pengetua request guru ganti juga dan bgtau murid jgn biar pnp bjalan tnp guru. Ni ada la yg suruh pg ikut kelas lain punya kelas bi, dui nda pernah kali ni orang sekolah. Jadual setiap kelas mana sama. Kelas lain kelas bi, yg kelas lain blh jd kelas bath. Dia suruh tu murid berusaha. Knp tu cgu nda berusahah utk masuk kelas mgajar. Byk lg la blh dipertikaikan tindakan cgu tu.

One should go and see the schools in the interior for Orang Asli students. Teachers are missing in action and students are left to fend for themselves. Some of these teachers are political leaders serving 2 masters. One can guess who gets the priority.

Such absenteeism and irresponsibility of teacher is too rampantly happening everyday across the board in Malaysia. Appointment and promotion not based on meritocracy is main cause for the free falling of education standard in Malaysia. The leaders are in total oblivion that the quality of education decides the future of next generation and the country. What a shame for this Malaysia Bolehland.
I WONDER?

The rot in teaching starts from the top, from management in the Ministry, from the day teacher trainees are selected to when they are posted and them promoted.

Bravo to Nafirah Siman for standing up for the students in Sabah. We are so proud of you. It is a very clear that the teachers, the school, the Sabah Education department are taking these students for a ride and not taking seriously in the education in this rural area. They don't care about these students and assuming they don't know their right.

There is a concerted effort carried out by the deep state within the administration to deny the children of the common population in accessing and proficient in the languages of learning and knowledge. We believe Jainal’s refusal to turn up to teach English classes in 2015 was part of such a plot. We salute Nafirah Siman for her bravery to expose such heinous crime against humanity in a court of law. The lawyers also commended for their patience in studying and bringing the case to the light. We need more such examples of Public Interest Litigation Cases to eliminate deep state in the Ministry of Education.

Good for you Nafirah and those absentee teachers should not just makan gaji buta and after 35 yrs service still get their monthly pensions. In fact, the principal should also be dragged to the court for his/her failure in taking disciplinary action against that absentee teacher for dereliction of duty.
Dont just talk
TIADA.GURU Reply:

The good thing is the case itself. While we do not want a situation where parents sue the authorities for everything little thing, one would imagine that in most government schools, especially the rural ones, the principal and teachers are a law unto themselves and beyond challenge.

How can a teacher be absent from work for seven months? And what was the principle doing? Nafirah Siman must be applauded for taking them to court. It should have been a class action.

Nafirah is right to sue the teacher and the school for failing to get proper education while in school. Absent teacher is a common phenomena in Malaysian scools and as an ex-teacher, I can vouch for that fact. Even Principals and Headmasters are absent often and this has emboldened teachers to be absent too. This is a serious cancerous problem not only in this school but nation wide.

I believe this happens very commonly, not only in rural schools but also in urban ones. Has this young brave woman nothing else to do than taking on this mammoth task against the authorities in power? Every one who did not act on her complains should be given the boot. That will prevent further recurrence.
